If I have AOL Explorer can I delete Internet Explorer?
Q. I just downloaded AOL so I could IM a friend, but I seemed to have gotten a whole browser. And it looks better than Internet Explorer. So can I get rid of Internet Explorer and just use AOL? Anybody got any feedback as to whether or not that's a good or bad idea? Thanks!

A. Just to plainly answer your questiong YES. 1. go to add/remove programs 2. delete internet explorer to go further in depth.. do not delete internet explorer it is a successful web browser that can be there in a time of crunch if you need it...do not use AOL explorer because this will use way too many of your computers resources.. Like the other girl said use firefox it is the most efficient and highly customizable way to surf the web and more

A. AOL uses Internet Explorer as its base browser code. So, it's like AOL is just a fancy (expensive) interface on top of AOL. Try this... Anytime AOL is running, minimize the whole thing and click on Internet Explorer. You'll find it comes right up. :) So, Limewire's diagnosis is indeed correct and there's nothing for you to worry about at all. AOL also throttles back your connection speed during prime time due to heavy use. You could also bring up Firefox (if you have it) and use that same connection and be able to go significantly faster than AOL - which is probably built more to make things simpla and easy. As opposed to Firefox being full-featured and built for quality/speed. If you like really fast services, I would suggest… [cont.]

I installed AOL and now my internet explorer does not work?
Q. I uninstalled AOL to see if that would fix it but now when I click on internet explorer it still does not work. When I go to the microsoft homepage to download the browser it does not work. When I try to download security updates a Google search page shows up. What has happened? How can it be fixed?

A. AOL is not a reputable company.(to be mild) I recommend installing ALL traces of it, You should google this program "Dr cureit" (free antivirus standalone application), download, and let it run "without prompting" in options. It takes about 7hours; if it doesn't have to stop for permission whenever something is found(turn off promping). If a virus is found in System Restore, turn restore off restart your computer and turn it on again. (This information is right on my profile page) I'm sure you'll find something with AOL's icon on it. >:( I have, and on 3 different machines!
